Kōmaru teaches bushcraft and survival skills, helping you to build your knowledge and experience, try your hand at new things and have fun. We work across the North West and North Wales, from our Bushcraft Base Camp in Fishbrook Wood, within the famous Knowsley Safari Park.
Komaru provides the ultimate bushcraft and survival adventures for kids. We include everything from learning to use camouflage and track people and animals, to lighting fires without matches and building shelters. We learn how work together to make rope out of nettles, find water and cook survival food on a campfire. Bushcrafters aged between five and sixteen can go wild in the woods on our taster sessions and family courses – including overnight camps under the stars, where we can sometimes hear the Knowsley lions roar at night; and we also organise fun-filled children’s parties, along with events for schools, Scouts and community groups.
Kōmaru for FAMILIES
Families love our day-long courses and overnight camps, where you get to put your survival skills to the test as a team, as well as spending time and having fun together. This can mean everything from building a waterproof shelter in the woods and sleeping in it overnight, to lighting fires without matches, finding water and cooking survival food on a campfire. We show you how to track animals, forage for food, make rope and even navigate your way back to civilisation.
Kōmaru for ENTHUSIASTS
